Are used in osteoporosis since they hold on to calcium
With Diabetes:
ACE Inhibitors (protective against diabetic nephropathy)
ARBS
Calcium channel Blockers
Thiazide Diuretics
Beta Blockers
In Asthma:
ARBS, Calcium channel blockers, thiazide diuretics
Avoid ACE inhibitors to prevent confusion between drug or asthma related cough
Selective Beta- 1 blockers
In Pregnancy:
Hydralazine (Apresoline, BiDil)
Vasodilates arterioles > veins by increasing cGMP, causing smooth muscle relaxation. Reduces afterload
Co-administered with a Beta-Blocker to prevent reflex tachycardia
A/E: Fluid retention, angina, SLE-like syndrome, compensatory tachycardia
C/I in angina and Coronary artery disease
